Candied Orange Yogurt Parfait (Printable)

Layers of creamy yogurt, sweet candied oranges, and crunchy granola for a bright fresh treat.

# What you need:

→ Candied Oranges

01 - 2 medium oranges, thinly sliced
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 cup water

→ Yogurt Layer

04 - 2 cups Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla
05 - 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, optional
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Granola Crunch

07 - 1.5 cups granola, store-bought or homemade
08 - 0.25 cup chopped toasted almonds, optional

→ Garnish

09 - Fresh mint leaves, optional

# How to make it:

01 - In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves completely. Add orange slices in a single layer and simmer gently for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until rinds become translucent. Carefully transfer orange slices to a parchment-lined tray and let cool completely for approximately 10 minutes.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups Greek yogurt with honey (if using) and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well blended.
03 - Spoon a layer of yogurt into the bottom of each parfait glass or jar. Add a layer of granola followed by candied orange pieces. Repeat layers, finishing with yogurt on top. Arrange candied orange slices on the surface, sprinkle with additional granola and toasted almonds, then garnish with mint leaves if desired.
04 - Serve immediately for maximum granola crunch, or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It's fancy enough to serve guests but honestly takes less time than a trip to the coffee shop.
  • The textures keep surprising you—creamy, crunchy, chewy, all in one spoonful.
  • Leftover candied oranges sit in your fridge like edible gold, ready to brighten up any quiet moment.
02 -
  • Don't skip cooling the candied oranges completely—warm slices will melt into the yogurt and turn mushy faster than you'd think.
  • The granola-to-yogurt ratio matters more than you'd expect; too much granola and it overshadows the candied orange flavor you worked for.
03 -
  • Use a mandoline to slice oranges uniformly thin—it sounds fancy but it actually saves time and ensures even candying.
  • Save that syrup and drizzle it over plain yogurt on mornings when you don't have energy for the full parfait situation.
