Quick and crispy air-fried tortilla chips seasoned with smoky spices for a flavorful snack.

# What you need:

→ Tortillas

01 - 6 small corn tortillas

→ Oil & Seasonings

02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
03 - 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)

# How to make it:

01 - Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 2 minutes.
02 - Stack tortillas and cut each into 6 wedges to form chip-sized triangles.
03 - Place tortilla wedges in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle sea salt, smoked paprika, and ground cumin. Toss thoroughly to coat evenly.
04 - Lay chips in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to prevent overcrowding.
05 - Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping until chips are golden and crisp.
06 - Transfer the chips to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to cool; they will continue to crisp as they cool.
07 - Serve chips alongside salsa, guacamole, or preferred dip.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • These chips come together in under fifteen minutes, which means you can make a fresh batch while your guests are still arriving.
  • You control the salt and seasoning, so every bite tastes exactly the way you want it to.
  • The air fryer gives you that deep-fried crunch without the mess or the guilt of a pot of hot oil.
02 -
  • Do not skip the shake halfway through, or you will end up with some chips that are golden and others that are still pale and chewy.
  • If you are using flour tortillas instead of corn, check them a minute or two early because they crisp faster and can burn if you are not watching.
03 -
  • If your tortillas are a little dry or starting to crack, lightly mist them with water before cutting to make them more pliable and prevent breaking.
  • For perfectly even chips, use a pizza cutter and a ruler to guide your cuts, or just eyeball it like I do and embrace the rustic charm of slightly uneven triangles.
